The Savior Solar Pool Filter is a great money saving alternative to using your conventional pool pump all the time. It can save you a bunch of money and works pretty darn well, better than you would think.
In this Savior Solar Pool Filter review I’ll be going over this product so that you can better make a decision on whether or not its right for you and your pool.
Overview Of The Product
The Savior Solar Pool Filter is 100% solar powered and is free to operate.
It floats on top of the water and operates completely silent, filtering the water beneath it.
There are 4 different sizes that you can choose from with this product, 5k, 10k, 20k, and 40k. The 5k has the ability to pump up to 5,000 gallons of water per day, the 10k has the ability to pump up to 10,000 gallons, and so on.
It comes with a 1 year limited warranty from the manufacturer.
How It Works
Its pretty simple. The top of the Savior Solar Pool Filter has a solar panel on it. This panel converts sunlight into usable energy which is then used to power the pump that floats beneath the surface of the water.
This pumps the pool water through the 3 filters that are also beneath the water. Its simply pumps the water through the filters and back into the pool.
The larger sizes, such as the 40k Savior Solar Pool Filter has a larger solar panel and a more powerful pump than the smaller versions which allows it to pump much more water.
Does It Work As Good As They Claim?
Not quite, but it definitely works.
Take for example the 10k Savior Solar Pool Filter. They say it can pump 10,000 gallons of water daily. But this would only be true if you had pretty much perfect operating conditions. You would have to have a completely sunny day, and thats just not something thats going to happen often.
So expect the filters to pump a little less water on average than they say they do, but not too much less. They still work fairly good in cloudy weather, and of course the cloudier it is the less it will work.
What Makes It So Awesome
I would have to say the best part of using a floating solar pool pump/filter like this one is that it can save you some money.
How?
Well if you have the Savior Solar Pool Filter running all day you don’t have near as much of a need to run your conventional filter. And as you probably know, conventional pool pumps/filters ring up your electric bill like crazy.
You might even find that you don’t have to run your conventional pump/filter at all.
It won’t take care of the floating debris that you get on the surface of your pool thought. You will need a skimmer for that. If you use a solar powered filter like the Savior in conjunction with a solar powered pool skimmer, you are going to have one clean and easy to maintain pool.
And remember, the Savior is solar powered so you can leave it running all day without any cost. Its use of solar energy also makes it an environmentally friendly product, producing absolutely no waste, pollution, etc.
What I Don’t Like About It
Listen up because this is important…
There are a lot of complaints out there from customers who are very unhappy with the Savior Solar Pool Filter. The main complaint is that its pump stops working within a rather short period of time. And of course this is a huge problem, without a pump the whole thing is useless.
And take note that this product comes with a “limited” 1 year warranty. And I know there are customers that have tried to return defective pumps and found out that they are not included in the 1 year warranty.
Is The Savior Solar Pool Filter Worth The Money?
This is a tough question to answer. Although there are customers that have reported the same problem of the pump not working properly, there have still been many people who have found the Savior Solar Pool Filter to be fantastic.
And I will say that the majority of the reviews are positive, I just thought I should mention the negative ones too.
I think the Savior Solar Pool Filter is an amazing idea and has a lot of potential to be one of your favorite pieces of pool equipment. Its just that the negative reviews are a turnoff. Ultimately the decision of whether or not this product is worth it is up to you.
Cheapest Place To Buy
If you are going to buy the Savior Solar Pool Filter you are of course going to want it for the cheapest price possible. And you can find it at its cheapest on Amazon.com. Its prices vary greatly depending on what size you decide to buy.
But no matter what size you get, you will see that the price is pretty darn steep.
